Soldier Kicked Out of Army for Sharing Boko Haram Attack Video

A soldier in the Nigerian Army got kicked out for supposedly leaking info, like a video, about that recent deadly bomb attack by Boko Haram in Borno State. SaharaReporters heard about this.

Some high-up military guys told SaharaReporters that the firing happened after a video got out. It was recorded after some soldiers were killed by a bomb near Gubio, Borno State.

One source, who didn’t want to be named, said, Yeah, the soldier who recorded the video of our guys getting hit by that bomb two weeks ago? He’s gone.

The source also told about the army’s view on leaking stuff: See, if they figure out you’re leaking their secrets, they’ll just fire you.

Mansur Adamu Dismissed Soldier

SaharaReporters got a photo of the dismissed soldier holding a sign with his name and number: Mansur Adamu, 22NA/82/3795 PTE.

On January 12, SaharaReporters wrote that at least nine soldiers were killed by bombs planted by Boko Haram near Gubio in Borno State.

A military source gave SaharaReporters the scoop, saying that the bombs were planted by Boko Haram.

The source said the soldiers were coming from Maiduguri when it happened.

The source also said a bunch of soldiers were badly hurt, and some died right after the explosion.

Eight died yesterday (Sunday) from their injuries, and one just died this morning, the source told SaharaReporters.

The source made it clear it wasn’t a shooting attack. It happened at Gubio, not a trap; it was bombs, he said.

He said there were a lot of dead and hurt people and that nine people are dead for sure.

The soldiers were from 145 Damasak under 5 Brigade Maiduguri, Borno State.

SaharaReporters got videos and photos of what was left after the explosion. They showed a lot of soldiers lying still, showing how bad the explosion was.
