VDM Draws Massive Crowd as Peaceful Protest Holds in Ibadan

Supporters Troop Out in Large Numbers as VeryDarkMan Leads Calls for Action on Security Concerns and the Safe Return of Abducted Schoolchildren in Oyo State.

Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria –Popular social media activist and influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), attracted a massive crowd of supporters and residents as a peaceful protest took place in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Monday.VDM

Videos and photos circulating on social media showed hundreds of youths and residents marching through parts of the city alongside VDM, calling on authorities to address growing concerns over insecurity and the recent abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in the state. Protesters carried placards and chanted slogans demanding stronger action from the government and security agencies.

The demonstration remained largely peaceful as participants moved through major areas of Ibadan, drawing significant attention from passersby and motorists. Speaking during the protest, VDM reportedly called on the federal and state governments to intensify efforts to secure the release of abducted victims and improve security across affected communities. The protest is part of a growing wave of civic demonstrations led by VDM and his supporters, known as the Ratel Movement, which has recently organised public campaigns on issues ranging from insecurity to governance and social welfare.
