NDLEA Nabs 75-Year-Old Grandpa, Intercepts Tramadol in Fuel Tanks, 556kg Cannabis in Gombe
National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) operatives have arrested a 75-year-old grandpa, Alhaji Babani, with 15kg of skunk in Kurgwi, Qua’anpan LGA, Plateau State, on Friday, July 3.
In a separate operation in Taraba State on Saturday, July 4, officers arrested Daniel Harrison Ugwuoke, 30, with 43,980 capsules of Tramadol concealed inside two vehicle fuel tanks along Zaki-Biam Road, Wukari LGA.
The suspect was coming from Onitsha, Anambra State.
Also in Gombe, NDLEA operatives on Wednesday, July 1, arrested Dahiru Mohammed, 65, and Isiya Lawan, 36, at Kuri village, Yamaltu-Deba LGA, with 587 blocks of cannabis sativa weighing 556kg.
Other arrests include: Boniface Agu, 65, and Monday Nwaeze, 50, caught with 1.7kg of methamphetamine in Gwantu, Kaduna State on July 2; and Francis Ifara Eja, 65, nabbed with 231.7kg of skunk in Ikwo, Ebonyi State on July 4.
Meanwhile, NDLEA Commands nationwide intensified WADA sensitisation in schools and communities across Anambra, Enugu, Ogun, and Kano States.
