LAGOS, Nigeria — The Nigeria Media Nite Out Awards (NMNA) has appointed veteran journalist Paul Ukpabio as its Media Spokesperson, ahead of the next phase of activities surrounding the prestigious media recognition platform.
Ukpabio, a seasoned media practitioner with extensive experience covering Nigeria’s entertainment, society and corporate landscape, will be responsible for coordinating the awards’ media communication and strengthening engagement with journalists, media organisations and other industry stakeholders.
His appointment comes as the Nigeria Media Nite Out Awards continues to build on its reputation as one of Nigeria’s longstanding platforms for recognising excellence across the media industry.
Established in 2006, the NMNA has, over the years, honoured journalists and media organisations working across print, broadcast, online and photojournalism. The 19th edition, held in Lagos in 2025, featured journalists competing in several reporting categories, reflecting the awards’ continued focus on professional excellence.
Ukpabio has also had a longstanding relationship with the NMNA. His name has appeared among nominees for the awards in previous editions, including the Society Writer of the Year category.
With his new responsibility, he is expected to serve as a key point of contact between the organisers and the media, providing information on the awards’ activities, programmes and developments.
The appointment also places a familiar media voice at the centre of the NMNA’s publicity efforts as the organisation prepares for another edition of its annual celebration of Nigerian media professionals.
