Toyin Abraham Rejects Lagos APC Campaign Council Appointment, Says She’s Staying Out of Politics
The Nollywood actress says she was included on the campaign council list without her knowledge, asking the public to disregard her reported appointment ahead of the 2027 elections.

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has rejected her reported inclusion in the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council, insisting that she has no interest in participating in political activities.
Abraham’s name appeared among entertainers listed in the council’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, unveiled ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Reacting to the development, the actress took to social media to clarify her position, stating that she was not a member of any campaign council.
“I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently. I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee,” she said.
‘I Didn’t Do It Because of Any Bully’
In a later response on X, Abraham said her decision was not influenced by online criticism or bullying.
She said she woke up to find her name on a list she knew nothing about, adding that she had already decided to stay away from politics.
The clarification follows years of public scrutiny over her political involvement, particularly after she openly supported President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election.
Other Entertainers on the List
The Lagos APC campaign council’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate also features several prominent figures from Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
Those listed include veteran actors Jide Kosoko and Adebayo Salami, actresses Eniola Badmus and Bimbo Akintola, as well as Fuji musicians Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Obesere and Adewale Ayuba.
Toke Benson-Awoyinka was named director of the entertainment directorate, with Kosoko as co-director and Badmus as deputy director.
Despite Abraham’s public rejection, her name reportedly remained on the published 33-member directorate list.
As of September 18, no public explanation had been provided by the Lagos APC campaign council regarding her inclusion.
