Easter Disrupted: Dubai Churches Cancel Masses Amid Middle East War.

Church services across parts of Dubai have been abruptly suspended as tensions from the ongoing Middle East conflict spill into the Gulf region. With Easter approaching, Catholic leaders say the decision was taken strictly for safety reasons following government directives.

In a notice posted online, St Francis of Assisi Church announced that all Masses had been cancelled until further notice. Worshippers were also advised to stay away from the church premises to ensure public safety and community well-being.

The precaution comes after the coastal area of Jebel Ali reportedly experienced several missile and drone incidents linked to retaliatory strikes by Iran targeting Gulf states following the Israeli–US offensive launched on February 28.

Another parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, issued a similar statement on its website. The church confirmed that its Good Friday service would no longer hold physically but would instead be streamed live on its YouTube channel so worshippers can participate remotely.

The sudden cancellations highlight growing concerns about security in the region as the conflict continues to impact daily life far beyond the main battle zones.
