The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, signed the ₦4.4 trillion 2026 budget into law
The signing happened at the Lagos House in Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja.
The Lagos State House of Assembly already approved the budget, called the “Budget of Shared Prosperity,” in January.
The lawmakers gave the go-ahead for spending ₦4,444,509,776,438 for the 2026 year.
The deputy governor, Obafemi Hamzat, state executive council members, Head of Service Bode Agoro, Lagos State House of Assembly members, and other important people were at the thing.
When he gave the budget plan to the House in November 2025, Sanwo-Olu said it was made to boost wealth and create a Lagos that helps everyone who lives there.
“We still want to wipe out poverty and build a Lagos that works for all.
“Our goal still points us in every money choice we make, to give a better Lagos where everyone prospers, not just hopes to, the governor said.
Sanwo-Olu said the budget is based on four main things: focusing on people, up-to-date stuff, a good economy, and doing a good job governing, all in line with the state’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda.
