SILEC Initiatives Launches SIM USA Edition and Introduces Health-First Community Program

SILEC Initiatives today announced the official launch of its flagship publication, SILEC International Magazine (SIM) – Beyond the Streets USA Edition, alongside a new community-centred initiative titled the “Health‑First” Program: Leveraging Community Networks for Drug Prevention and Primary Healthcare.

The launch event will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 12:00 PM (EST) at the Transformation Event Hall, 114 Mays Landing Route 50, New Jersey, USA. The ceremony will bring together community leaders, healthcare professionals, media partners, and advocates committed to advancing public health and social transformation.

The event will be led by Amb. Sunny Irakpo, Drug Use Prevention Advocate and Founder/President of SILEC Initiatives. Under his leadership, SILEC Initiatives has grown into a movement dedicated to care sensitisation, health prioritisation, and sustainable community empowerment across Nigeria and the United States.

Rt. Revd. Dr Augustine Unuigbe, MD, of Rapha Medical Group and Coordinating Bishop of the Church of Nigeria North America, will chair the ceremony. Sunday Jesmiel will serve as event moderator, guiding discussions on the role of media and grassroots networks in promoting preventive healthcare and reducing substance misuse.

The new Beyond the Streets USA Edition of SILEC International Magazine expands SIM’s mission to spotlight real stories, research, and solutions at the intersection of community health, youth development, and drug-use prevention. The magazine aims to inform, inspire, and equip readers with practical tools for change.

Launching alongside SIM is SILEC’s “Health‑First” Program. The initiative is designed to strengthen local health outcomes by leveraging trusted community networks to deliver drug prevention education, increase access to primary healthcare, and promote early intervention. The program reflects SILEC Initiatives’ belief that sustainable transformation begins when health is placed first — in homes, schools, and faith communities.

SILEC Initiatives gratefully acknowledges the support of its official partners: Transformation Anglican Church, Ovation Media Group, and Rapha Medical Group, whose collaboration makes this dual launch possible.
