Lagos Police Deny Cult Clash Rumours, Boost Security in Affected Areas

The Lagos State Police Command has dismissed rumours of a possible cult-related clash in parts of the state, assuring residents that there’s no cause for alarm.

The police have stepped up security measures in areas like Shitta, Akerele, Itire/Aguda, and Ishaga following an initial report.

Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, has ordered increased patrols and police presence in these areas to ensure safety.

“The areas are well secured, and adequate security coverage has been emplaced to deter any unlawful gatherings or activities,” SP Abimbola Adebisi said in a statement.

Residents are advised to ignore unverified rumours and go about their daily activities without fear.

The police are urging citizens to report any suspicious activities to the nearest station or through emergency lines provided: 07061019374, 08065154338, 08063299264, 08039344870, and 09168630929.

The Lagos State Police Command said it remains resolute in its duty to protect all residents and will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure that peace prevails across the State.
