U.S. rapper Kanye West also known as ye is scheduled to perform in Tirana this July, marking one of his major European appearances this year.
Albania’s culture authorities confirmed the concert will take place on July 11, with plans for a large-scale event aimed at boosting the country’s profile as a destination for international entertainment. Reports suggest a specially built venue could host tens of thousands of fans.
The announcement comes despite recent setbacks for the rapper, whose shows in parts of Europe—including the UK and Poland—were cancelled following backlash over past controversial remarks.
