Abia Nursing Student Found Beheaded in Imo Apartment Sparks Shock and Police Probe

A tragic incident has thrown Umulogho community in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State into deep shock after a female nursing student from Abia State was discovered dead and beheaded in her off-campus apartment.

The victim, identified as a student of the College of Nursing, Umulogho, was reportedly found inside her residence after concerned individuals raised alarm over her sudden disappearance and unusual silence.

Residents who forced entry into the apartment were met with a horrifying scene, as the young woman’s lifeless body showed signs of severe violence. The discovery immediately sparked panic and tension within the community, drawing crowds to the area.

Eyewitnesses described the atmosphere as chaotic, with anger and fear spreading among students and residents as news of the killing circulated.

According to initial reports, the victim had been pursuing her nursing and midwifery studies before the incident. The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, with no confirmed motive at the time of filing this report.

The Imo State Police Command confirmed awareness of the incident and stated that operatives had visited the scene to gather evidence. The body was later evacuated and deposited in a morgue for further investigation.

Police spokesperson Henry Okoye assured that a full investigation had commenced to uncover those responsible for the killing and the circumstances leading to the crime.

Authorities have urged calm, promising that justice will be pursued as detectives work to unravel the case.

The incident adds to growing concerns over student safety in off-campus housing across parts of Nigeria.
