After Stephen Eustáquio’s late winner, Drake walked away with roughly $231,000 profit.
He shared the bet slip on Instagram before kickoff, tagging South African DJ *Black Coffee* and writing: “@realblackcoffee was chirping in the DM I had to raise the STAKES.
Black Coffee fired back online: “How about we bet on you coming to SA when you lose, now that’s a real bet!”
South African fans had fun with the “Drake curse” online, but the result was no joke for Bafana. The 1-0 loss ended what was already South Africa’s best-ever World Cup campaign, after reaching the knockout stage for the first time.
For Drake, it’s another high-profile win on Stake. For South Africa? It’s bragging rights for Canada, a million for the rapper, and a reminder to be careful what you DM.
