Primark to Introduce Home Delivery in Britain for the First Time
Budget fashion retailer confirms plans to allow customers to order Primark products online and have them delivered directly to their homes.

LONDON, UK: Primark is set to introduce home delivery in Great Britain, marking a major change in the way customers will be able to shop from the popular budget fashion retailer.
The company confirmed the plans on Thursday, September 10, saying customers will eventually be able to order products through its website and have them delivered directly to their homes.
However, Primark has not yet announced a specific launch date for the new service.
The move comes as Primark continues to expand its digital operations after years of relying heavily on its physical stores.
Its parent company, Associated British Foods (ABF), revealed that it has purchased a warehouse in Sheffield, which is expected to support the retailer’s expanding online operations.
Primark had previously resisted introducing full online shopping because of the additional costs involved in picking, packing and delivering individual orders.
The retailer has now changed its position, saying developments in its digital operations and the success of its existing click-and-collect service have created an opportunity for profitable growth through home delivery.
Primark launched its website in 2022, initially allowing customers in selected parts of the UK to order around 2,000 products online for collection from stores.
The click-and-collect service has since been expanded to all Primark stores across the UK.
Earlier this year, the retailer also launched a mobile app, allowing customers to browse products and use click and collect.
The introduction of home delivery will give Primark customers another option, particularly those who prefer shopping online rather than visiting a physical store.
ABF Chief Executive George Weston said Primark had made significant progress in developing its digital capabilities and would continue expanding both click and collect and home delivery in Great Britain.
The announcement comes despite an expected 2.6 per cent decline in Primark’s overall sales during the past financial year.
The company said weaker performance in continental Europe contributed to the decline, while UK sales are estimated to have increased by 0.6 per cent.
Primark also said prolonged hot weather affected demand for autumn clothing, as customers delayed purchases.
The retailer’s move into home delivery represents a significant change for a brand that has traditionally built its business around large physical stores and low-cost fashion.
For millions of UK shoppers, the biggest question now is when they will be able to place their first Primark order from the comfort of their homes.
For now, Primark has confirmed that home delivery is coming, but no official launch date has been announced.
