ADC Drama! Hayatu-Deen Boycotts Results, Cries Rigging

Tension has erupted within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after presidential aspirant, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, announced he would boycott the Party’s presidential primary results declaration over alleged vote manipulation.

Hayatu-Deen accused the Party’s primary process of being riddled with irregularities, claiming reports of widespread rigging had poured in from different parts of the country. He also alleged that he personally witnessed some of the incidents.

Speaking through his X handle on Tuesday, the presidential hopeful said he would stay away from the announcement of the election results while consulting on his next line of action.

“I will not be attending the announcement of the ADC Presidential Election Results today. I am concerned by reports from across the country of widespread vote rigging, some of which I myself observed, and will therefore be taking advice on my next steps,” he wrote.

The development comes as the ADC presidential primary race heats up, with former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen battling for the Party’s ticket.
