Gov. Balance Mohamed Gifts Emirs SUVs

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has distributed GMC SUVs, Toyota Camry sedans, and buses to emirs and district heads across the state in a move aimed at strengthening grassroots governance and community engagement.

The vehicles were handed over during a ceremony at the Government House in Bauchi, where the governor said the gesture would enhance mobility for traditional rulers and improve their capacity to respond to community needs.

“Traditional institutions remain critical partners in governance, security, and peacebuilding,” Governor Mohammed said. “By equipping our emirs and district heads, we are empowering them to reach every corner of their domains and engage citizens more effectively.”

Beneficiaries include first-class emirs and district heads from the 20 local government areas of the state. The state government said the vehicles will support traditional rulers in carrying out administrative duties, mediating disputes, and coordinating development efforts at the community level.

The distribution is part of the administration’s broader strategy to deepen collaboration between government and traditional institutions for improved service delivery and social cohesion.
