“I Can’t Bear It Anymore”: VeryDarkMan Breaks Down Over Kidnapped Children, Vows to Raise Ransom if Govt Fails

Popular activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), is stirring strong emotions online after a tearful plea over children and teachers still held captive by kidnappers in Nigeria.

In a raw video statement, he said the footage of the victims has become too painful to watch. He gave the government a four-day window to rescue them or negotiate their release. If nothing happens, he vowed to do what no one expected: open a GoFundMe to raise money and negotiate directly with the captors.

“If in the next four days the Nigerian government is not able to rescue them or negotiate to get them out, for the first time, I will open a GoFundMe account and look for a way to negotiate with the terrorists and then pay them. I can’t bear to watch their videos anymore,” he said.

VeryDarkMan admitted the move could land him in legal and security trouble. But he said he’s ready to face whatever comes if it brings the children and teachers back home to their families. His words have split Nigerians online.

Many are sharing his pain and praying for the victims. Others are warning about the risks of funding or negotiating with terrorists, and what that could mean for future kidnappings.

Beyond the debate, one thing is clear: the crisis of school abductions and community attacks is cutting deep. For parents, teachers, and students across affected areas, safety still feels far away.
