Nollywood actor and entertainer Charles Okocha has dismissed claims that he bit singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, during their celebrity boxing match on Saturday, August 1, at the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos.
The bout, which was part of the “Chaos in the Ring” charity event, saw former Imo Governor Rochas Okorocha defeat Portable. Still, it was a ringside scuffle involving Okocha that got social media talking.
In a video that went viral after the match, some fans alleged that Okocha bit Portable during a heated moment.
Addressing the rumours, Okocha laughed off the claims in a post-match interview.
“I’d rather chew grass than bite Portable. I don’t want to contract rabies,” Okocha said. “I was wearing a mouthguard during the match. How can I bite somebody with a mouthguard? Make una dey find content.”
The actor, known for his dramatic persona “Igwe 2pac,” said the fight was purely for entertainment and to raise funds for youth empowerment.
“Na sport we dey do. No be real fight. We came to entertain people and also support a good cause,” he added.
Portable is yet to respond to Okocha’s comments.
The “Chaos in the Ring” event featured several celebrities and aimed to promote sports, discipline, and unity among Nigerian youths.
