IGP Disu Rallies Mobile Force Commander, Pledges Stronger Training & Welfare
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Wednesday, April 23, joined officers at the closing of the Police Mobile Force Squadron Commanders’ Training Programme held at the Training College in Ende-Hills, Nasarawa State, northern Nigeria.
The training forms part of ongoing reforms to boost leadership capacity and operational efficiency across the Nigeria Police Force.
During his visit, IGP Disu toured key facilities, including the simulation ground and shooting range, where he took part in tactical drills.
His participation underscored the Force’s emphasis on leadership by example and the value of continuous, scenario-based training in modern policing.
Addressing cadets of the Nigeria Police Academy also undergoing training at the College, the IGP urged them to maintain discipline, resilience, and strict adherence to human rights principles.
He noted that the quality of their training would directly shape their professionalism and effectiveness in the field.
At the closing ceremony, IGP Disu congratulated the Squadron Commanders for completing the intensive programme and charged them to apply their new knowledge to strengthen leadership, tactical efficiency, and operational discipline in their formations.
He stressed that the Police Mobile Force must remain a disciplined, responsive, and reliable tactical unit of the Force.
The IGP also restated his commitment to improving officers’ welfare and boosting operational capacity nationwide.
He assured commanders of sustained efforts to equip formations with the tools needed to tackle evolving security challenges.
