Lagos Pushes Digital Economy Growth with Commissioning of Kasi Cloud Hyperscale Data Center
The commissioning of the Kasi Cloud Hyperscale Data Center Campus in Lekki highlights Lagos State’s commitment to digital infrastructure, innovation, AI development and private-sector investment.
Lekki witnessed another major milestone in Nigeria’s technology sector as the Kasi Cloud Hyperscale Data Centre Campus was officially commissioned, reinforcing Lagos State’s ambition to remain the hub of Africa’s growing digital economy.
Speaking during the event, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said Lagos has continued to grow into the centre of Africa’s digital economy because of the resilience, innovation and determination of its people over the past decade.
According to the governor, resilience alone is not enough to sustain long-term growth. He stressed the need for continuous investment in infrastructure that supports technology, enterprise, innovation and economic expansion.
Sanwo-Olu stated that Lagos remains open to infrastructure investment and is ready to partner with organisations building cloud computing and artificial intelligence infrastructure. He described enabling infrastructure as a smart economic strategy that will shape the future of both Lagos and Nigeria.
The governor also highlighted several reforms and investments introduced by the state government to strengthen the digital ecosystem. These include the Lagos State Electricity Law, expansion of fibre connectivity, investment in digital skills development and stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors.
He noted that these initiatives are designed to create an environment where technology companies, startups and innovation-driven businesses can thrive.
The commissioning of the Kasi Cloud Hyperscale Data Centre Campus is expected to boost cloud services, improve digital storage capacity and support the increasing demand for AI and data-driven solutions across Nigeria and Africa.
