Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday received the Ambassador of Spain to Nigeria, Mr Felix Costales, during a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina.
The meeting focused on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Lagos State and Spain, with both parties exploring opportunities for collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
Sanwo-Olu noted the importance of international partnerships in driving development and innovation in Lagos, Africa’s largest commercial hub. He emphasised the state government’s commitment to building strategic relationships that can foster growth across key sectors.
The Spanish Ambassador, Mr Costales, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reiterated Spain’s interest in deepening its engagement with Lagos, particularly in areas that promote economic cooperation and cultural exchange.
Both leaders highlighted the need to sustain dialogue and identify practical avenues for collaboration that will benefit residents of Lagos and strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and Spain.
The visit marks another step in Lagos State’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a global city open to partnerships and investment.
