Lagos Taskforce Arrests 32 ‘Omotaku’ Members for Traffic Obstruction

The Lagos State Taskforce on Tuesday apprehended 32 members of the group known as ‘Omotaku’ during a coordinated enforcement operation across major roads on both the Island and Mainland.

The suspects were reportedly arrested for causing public nuisance, obstructing traffic illegally, and endangering motorists. The operation followed repeated complaints from residents about youths harassing drivers and creating safety risks on key highways.

Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, Director of Public Affairs for the Lagos State Taskforce, explained that the raid targeted hotspots including Apongbon, Fadeyi, Jibowu, Yaba Phase 1, Lagos Island, Palmgrove, Ojuelegba, Surulere, and surrounding areas.
