The Warri Kingdom marked a historic moment as Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, conferred the title of Utukpa-Oritse of Warri Kingdom on Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu. The investiture was a homecoming for Senator Tinubu, who traces her maternal roots to the Itsekiri people.
The ceremony celebrated her service to Nigeria and recognised her achievements as First Lady. Senator Tinubu also received the Royal Order of Iwere (ROI), the kingdom’s second-highest honour.
Dignitaries, including Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and Dein of Agbor Benjamin Keagborekuzi, attended the event.
Ogiame Atuwatse III congratulated Nigeria’s First Lady and prayed for continued unity and progress for the Itsekiri nation and Nigeria.
