A heated exchange has erupted between human rights activist Omoyele Sowore and social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) over the detention of businessman B-Lord, aka Linus Williams Ifejirika.
Sowore has vowed to secure B-Lord’s release, describing his detention as “not a victory” and warning against the weaponisation of the law.
B-Lord was remanded in Kuje prison for 26 days after being accused of impersonating VDM, forgery, and using his image without consent.
VDM has threatened to send Sowore to prison if he uses his image without permission, escalating the feud.
Sowore has instructed his lawyer to withdraw from the case, arguing that justice shouldn’t be reduced to punishment.
VDM sees this as a personal rights issue, not activism or oppression
