President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recorded a landslide victory in Kabo Ward, Kabo Local Government Area of Kano North Senatorial District, during the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election.
The ward, which is the political base of Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, delivered overwhelming support for the President as party members turned out in large numbers for the exercise held at the APC headquarters in Kabo ward.
Senator Barau was seen openly displaying President Tinubu’s campaign poster as hundreds of APC members, including the Chairman of Kabo Local Government Area, Hon. Lawal Najume, lined up behind him during the accreditation and voting process. The exercise reportedly concluded around 2:00 p.m.
Announcing the results, the Returning Officer, Umar Mohammadu Rabiu, disclosed that President Tinubu’s only challenger, Mr. Osifo Osayamen Stanley, failed to secure a single vote in the ward.
Rabiu added that only three out of the 1,007 registered voters expected for the exercise were absent.
He also expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and orderly conduct of the primary election, which was supervised by members of the APC presidential primary committee in Kano State.
Speaking after the exercise, Senator Barau commended party members for what he described as an impressive turnout and disciplined conduct throughout the process.
“With the massive turnout of party members, Insha Allah, the coast is clear for the victory of President Tinubu come January 16, 2027, when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will conduct the presidential and National Assembly elections,” Barau said in a statement issued by his media aide, Ismail Mudashir.
Also reacting, the Chairman of Kabo LGA, Hon. Lawal Najume, praised the conduct of the primary and expressed confidence that President Tinubu, Governor Abba, Senator Barau and other APC candidates would emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections.
