On Friday morning, a truck flipped over on the Otedola Bridge in Lagos, causing major traffic jams on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Because of the accident, traffic was backed up all the way from the Otedola Bridge to Berger. Drivers heading into Lagos were stuck, and there weren’t many other ways to go. Eyes of Lagos reported this.
The Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) said on its Facebook page that the accident led to another crash right behind it.

The RRS said that a loaded truck turned over, dumping its cargo and covering most of the road. Then, another accident happened right behind the first one, making the traffic situation even worse.
Emergency services were called right away, and drivers were told to be careful when driving near the area.
Adebayo Taofiq, who speaks for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), said that traffic officers were already there to control traffic and help with rescue efforts.

Crews are working to remove the overturned truck and the spilt cargo so that traffic can move freely again on that part of the expressway.
