“If they don’t act by Tuesday evening, they won’t have any power plants, and they won’t have any bridges standing,” Trump told the publication.
Later, he amplified the warning on social media, posting cryptically: “Tuesday, 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time!” without mentioning Iran or providing further details.
Earlier on Sunday, Trump had also indicated that Iran could face attacks on vital infrastructure if the strait remained closed, though no exact time was specified in that statement.
The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the social media post or the escalating warnings.
