US Introduces $750 Fast-Track Visa Interview Fee for Tourist and Business Travelers

U.S. Introduces Premium Service Allowing Certain Visa Applicants to Pay Extra for Faster Interview Appointments

WASHINGTON, D.C., UNITED STATES — The United States government is set to introduce a new premium visa processing option that will allow certain applicants to pay an additional $750 fee to fast-track their visa interview appointments.

The initiative, expected to apply primarily to business and tourist visa applicants, is designed to reduce waiting times by providing eligible travellers with access to interview appointments within a significantly shorter period.

According to reports, the expedited service fee will be charged in addition to the standard visa application fee and will only cover faster scheduling of interview appointments. It will not guarantee visa approval, as all applicants must still meet existing eligibility requirements and complete the visa application process.

The move comes as U.S. embassies and consulates around the world continue to face high demand for visa services, with some locations experiencing lengthy appointment backlogs.

Supporters of the policy argue that the premium option will provide greater flexibility for travellers with urgent business, tourism, or family-related travel plans. Critics, however, have raised concerns that the additional fee could create a two-tier visa system, favouring applicants who can afford faster access.

The pilot programme is expected to be rolled out at selected U.S. diplomatic missions, with further details on participating locations and implementation timelines to be provided by the U.S. State Department.
