Rotary Club Ojodu Celebrates 21 Years, Honours Azuh Arinze for Outstanding Service

It was a night defined by recognition, legacy, and service as the Rotary Club of Ojodu marked a major milestone, using the occasion to celebrate one of its most dedicated members.

At its 21st anniversary celebration, the club honoured Azuh Arinze with a Distinguished Service Award, in recognition of his years of commitment and impact within the Rotary movement.

The event, held at Protea Hotel Ikeja Select, drew an impressive gathering of Rotary leaders, stakeholders, and members, underscoring the club’s influence and standing within the district. Among the dignitaries present were Henry Akinyele and Ade Oyenekan, alongside several high-ranking Rotarians.

Now serving as a Past Assistant Governor, Arinze has earned a strong reputation within Rotary circles for his consistency, leadership, and dedication to service. During his time as Assistant Governor, he played a vital role in strengthening club operations, mentoring members, and advancing initiatives aligned with Rotary’s mission of community development and humanitarian service.

The award specifically recognised his “outstanding support and invaluable contribution” to the club’s growth and stability over the years, highlighting his hands-on involvement and quiet yet impactful influence behind the scenes.

Beyond Rotary, Arinze is widely respected in media and communications and is the publisher of Yes International Magazine. He brings a unique blend of storytelling and leadership into his service work—an approach that has helped boost the club’s visibility and engagement.

In his acceptance speech, he expressed sincere gratitude to the club’s members, giving special recognition to the President, Nnanna Martins, for the honour. He reaffirmed his commitment to the club’s vision and pledged continued support for its initiatives and growth.

The 21st anniversary was more than a celebration of longevity. It reflected over two decades of meaningful impact in community service, youth empowerment, and humanitarian outreach by the Rotary Club of Ojodu.

As the evening came to a close, the message was clear: while the club proudly honoured its past, it remains firmly focused on building a stronger future—with committed leaders like Azuh Arinze still playing a key role in that journey.
