Joy and relief as Kano woman welcomes quintuplets, government steps in to help.

A Kano family has been blessed with five newborns at once, after Hafsatu Yusuf safely delivered quintuplets at Murtala Specialist Hospital.

Her husband, Malam Salisu Nafiu, shared the news, revealing that the babies – three boys and two girls – arrived around 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Nafiu, who works as a tricycle rider, expressed deep gratitude for the safe delivery, confirming that both mother and children are in stable condition. He also mentioned that this is his wife’s ninth childbirth.

According to him, medical staff at the hospital are closely monitoring the family, providing extra care to ensure both the mother and the newborns remain healthy.

In a show of support, the Kano State Government has pledged to fully cover the medical expenses for the mother and her babies.

Speaking on behalf of the state Ministry of Health, Nabilusi Abubakar Kofar Na’isa said the move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen maternal and child healthcare and reduce mortality rates across the state.

He added that the government remains committed to assisting vulnerable families and improving access to quality healthcare services.

In a related development, a similar case was recorded earlier this month in Ogun State, where a woman, Mufiat Olateju, gave birth to quadruplets at Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta.

Olateju, who already had five children before the delivery, had appealed for support after struggling to pay hospital bills. She also revealed that the multiple birth came as a surprise, as earlier scans did not show she was expecting more than one baby.
