President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is leaving Abuja today, Monday, for a state visit to Türkiye. This trip shows Nigeria’s continued interest in building relationships with other countries.
Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, said the visit will help strengthen the relationship between Nigeria and Türkiye and create new chances to work together. They’ll be talking about important topics like security, education, how to help people, new ideas, and aeroplanes.
This visit is also in response to the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to Nigeria in October 2021. Both countries want to keep talking and working together at a high level.
While in Türkiye, President Tinubu will meet with Turkish government leaders. They’ll talk about politics, helping each other out, money, talking to each other, business, and investing. The two countries will look for ways to make their business connections stronger and help their people connect better.
One of the main things that will happen is that they’ll sign some agreements. These agreements should include things like science research, getting energy, helping each other with skills, working together in the military, talking to the media, and how to act in diplomatic situations. These agreements should help Nigeria and Türkiye work together for a long time.
Besides meeting with the government, there will be a business meeting wherebusinesspeoplee from both countries can meet. This meeting should help them find ways to invest, create partnerships, and get businesses involved in projects that help both countries.
President Tinubu will be with a group of important people, including government officials and security leaders. This group includes Yusuf Tuggar, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), General Christopher Musa (retd), and Jimi Benson.
Other people on the trip are Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Hannatu Musawa, Nuhu Ribadu, and Mohammed Mohammed. President Tinubu is expected to come back to Nigeria after he finishes everything in Türkiye.
