ADC Convention Drama: David Mark’s Camp Expels Nafiu Bala, Others Over ‘Anti-Party’ Moves.

Fresh crisis has rocked the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after the faction loyal to David Mark announced the expulsion of Nafiu Bala and several other party members over alleged anti-party activities.

The decision was made during the party’s National Convention held in Abuja on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, where leaders aligned with Mark accused Bala and his associates of actions they say undermined the party’s leadership.

Among those also expelled are Stella Chukwuma, Leke Abejide, and Kingsley Temitope Ogga.

According to officials from the Mark-led faction, Bala’s removal followed his decision to challenge the legitimacy of the current party leadership in court. Party insiders argue that he took legal action without first exhausting the party’s internal dispute resolution channels, a move they described as clear anti-party conduct.

Despite the deepening leadership dispute within the party, the convention went ahead as scheduled. Organisers also had to deal with last-minute drama surrounding the securing of a venue in the Federal Capital Territory before the event eventually held.

The development is the latest twist in the ongoing power struggle within the ADC as rival factions continue to battle over the control and direction of the party ahead of future political contests.
