A civil society organisation, Ijesa for Peaceful Polls (IPP), has thrown its weight behind the re-election bid of Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
The group made its position known during a public statement issued in Osogbo, where it praised the governor’s administration for what it described as notable achievements in infrastructure development, education, healthcare delivery, workers’ welfare, and youth empowerment.
According to the group, Adeleke’s leadership has brought visible improvements across key sectors of the state, making him deserving of another term in office. It urged residents of Osun State to support continuity in governance to sustain ongoing development projects.
IPP convener, Abdulkareem Agbaje, said the group’s endorsement was based on the governor’s performance since assuming office, adding that his policies have positively impacted grassroots communities across the state.
The group further described Adeleke as a leader whose administration has prioritised public welfare and inclusive development, insisting that his re-election would consolidate the progress already recorded.
The organisation also encouraged political stakeholders and voters to focus on issues-based campaigning ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election, rather than political rivalry.
In its statement, IPP said Adeleke has demonstrated “a people-oriented governance style” that deserves continued support from the electorate, adding that stability in leadership would strengthen development outcomes in Osun State.
Governor Adeleke, who is eligible for a second term, continues to enjoy endorsements from various civil society groups and political actors as preparations intensify ahead of the poll.
