The remains of Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, mother of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, have arrived in Abuja ahead of her burial. The family announced that the Janazah Prayer will be held at the National Mosque Abuja at 1 pm, followed by burial at Gudu Cemetery.
In a statement, Hon. Bello El-Rufai, a grandson of the deceased and a House of Representatives member, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers, visits, and condolences. He asked Allah to forgive Hajiya Umma’s shortcomings and grant her the highest place in Aljannatul Firdaus.
Hajiya Umma El-Rufai passed away on Friday, March 27, in Cairo, Egypt, after a brief illness. Her son, Nasir El-Rufai, was granted temporary release from ICPC custody to attend the burial. The former governor’s family is in mourning, and the nation is united in prayer for the repose of Hajiya Umma’s soul.
