How NDLEA Arrested KC Luxury at Lagos Airport Over Alleged International Cocaine Trafficking

NDLEA Arrests Luxury Influencer KC Luxury at Lagos Airport Over Alleged ₦39 Billion Cocaine Trafficking Network

LAGOS, Nigeria: The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Nigerian social media influencer and luxury goods dealer Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, in connection with an alleged international cocaine trafficking network.

According to the NDLEA, KC Luxury was arrested on the night of August 13, 2026, at the boarding gate of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, as he was preparing to leave Nigeria on a business-class flight to Paris.

How the investigation began

The arrest reportedly followed an intelligence-led investigation into a large cocaine shipment intercepted by the NDLEA through a courier logistics company in Lagos.

The agency said it seized 184.50 kilogrammes of cocaine, describing it as the largest cocaine seizure ever made through a courier company in Nigeria. The consignment was allegedly being prepared for export as part of an international trafficking operation.

Investigators subsequently linked KC Luxury to the alleged network. The NDLEA described him as the suspected Nigerian arrowhead of a cartel allegedly involved in moving cocaine from South America through Nigeria to destinations in the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia.

Arrest at the airport

NDLEA operatives reportedly received credible intelligence that KC Luxury intended to leave Nigeria for France.

According to the agency, officers moved to the airport and intercepted him at the boarding gate, just as he was attempting to board his business-class flight to Paris.

The arrest took place several days after the cocaine shipment was intercepted, according to reports.

Another suspect arrested

The NDLEA also arrested Lawal Kehinde, an employee of the logistics company allegedly connected to the cocaine consignment.

The agency said both suspects were taken into custody as investigations into the alleged trafficking network continued.

Search of KC Luxury’s residence

Following his arrest, NDLEA operatives searched KC Luxury’s luxury apartment on Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The search reportedly led to the recovery of several exotic vehicles and other items, further drawing public attention to the influencer’s highly publicised lifestyle.

KC Luxury had built a significant social media following by showcasing luxury cars, expensive watches and other high-value possessions. Following news of his arrest, old videos showing his extravagant lifestyle resurfaced across social media.

The alleged value of the cocaine

Reports put the estimated international value of the 184.50kg cocaine consignment at about ₦39 billion, although the precise value can vary depending on the market and valuation method used.

The NDLEA has presented the case as part of a wider international operation involving the movement of cocaine through Nigeria to overseas destinations.

KC Luxury has not been convicted of any offence, and the allegations against him remain subject to investigation and due process. His arrest does not by itself establish guilt.

The case is expected to attract further attention as the NDLEA continues its investigation into the alleged cartel and the people connected to the seized cocaine shipment.
