Kenneth Okonkwo Slams Nafiu Gombe’s Court Movel Against ADC Leadership.
Veteran actor and political commentator, Kenneth Okonkwo, has fired a scathing critique at Nafiu Gombe over his reported plan to drag the African Democratic Congress (ADC) leadership to court. Speaking in a recent interview on Channels Television, Okonkwo described Gombe’s move as both surprising and unjustifiable, questioning its legal and ethical basis given Gombe’s prior resignation from the party.
Okonkwo called Gombe’s decision “contradictory,” noting that it defies the norms of party discipline and loyalty. “It doesn’t make sense for someone who officially left a political party to later seek judicial interference in its internal affairs,” he argued, stressing that such actions undermine procedural integrity.
He emphasised that once a person resigns from a political organisation, their authority to challenge its leadership is effectively null. “The move raises serious questions about his motives,” Okonkwo added, highlighting the inconsistency between Gombe’s earlier resignation and his current legal threat.
Detailing the timeline, Okonkwo said, “Nafiu Gombe resigned from the ADC on May 17, 2025, through a letter he signed on May 18, which officially took effect on May 26, 2025. This clearly shows he voluntarily disengaged from the party long before these disputes arose.”
Summing up his position, Okonkwo declared, “It is very ridiculous for a man like Nafiu Gombe to now go to court to challenge the leadership of the ADC.” He concluded that Gombe’s actions are difficult to defend and appear inconsistent with both legal expectations and political norms.
