Kidnap Plot Rocks Rap World: Gucci Mane Allegedly Held at Gunpoint by Own Label Artiste.

A shocking criminal case has shaken the hip-hop industry after prosecutors revealed that rap star, Gucci Mane, was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint in Dallas earlier this year. Authorities say eight suspects have now been arrested in connection with the incident — including fellow rapper, Pooh Shiesty, who was reportedly signed to Mane’s record label at the time.

According to prosecutors, Pooh Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr., allegedly orchestrated the attack by luring Gucci Mane to what was supposed to be a business meeting. Investigators claim the meeting turned into an ambush inside a Dallas recording studio, where the rapper was held against his will and forced to sign documents releasing Shiesty from his contract.

Gucci Mane, an Atlanta-based artiste known for collaborations with stars like Usher, Doja Cat, and Drake, founded his record label 1017 Records in 2007. Pooh Shiesty later joined the label in 2020.

Authorities say eight of the nine suspects involved in the case were arrested on Wednesday across Dallas, Memphis, and Nashville. They have been charged in federal court with kidnapping and armed robbery. If convicted, they could face life in prison. One suspect is still on the run, and investigators say they are working with law enforcement in Georgia to track him down.

The alleged incident reportedly happened on January 10, at a time when Williams Jr. was supposed to be under house arrest following a previous firearms conspiracy conviction. Prosecutors say he was accompanied by eight others — including his father, Lontrell Williams Sr. — who are all accused of participating in the attack.

According to an FBI statement, Williams Jr. allegedly pointed a black AK-style pistol at Gucci Mane and forced him to sign the documents. Investigators also claim he stole several personal items belonging to the rapper, including his wedding ring, watch, earrings, and cash.

Other suspects at the scene were also reportedly armed and allegedly demanded valuables from additional victims present in the studio. Court documents say one victim was physically assaulted and had several belongings stolen, including a Rolex watch, a Louis Vuitton bag, AirPods, and a wallet.

Prosecutors also revealed that shortly after the incident, some of the suspects allegedly appeared on social media showing off jewellery that investigators believe belonged to the victims.

Officials say the victims feared for their lives during the ordeal and believed they might be killed before the suspects eventually ordered them to leave the building and return to their cars.

As of now, representatives for both Pooh Shiesty and Gucci Mane have not publicly commented on the allegations.
