Makinde’s Presence Sparks Buzz as APM Set for Oyo Guber Primary

Political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections in Oyo State are heating up as the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) finalises plans for its governorship primary election slated for Thursday.

The exercise will take place at the Watershed Event Centre in Ibadan, where Party members, stakeholders and supporters from different parts of the State are expected to converge.

Aside from the governorship contest, the Party will also conduct primary elections for aspirants seeking tickets into the Senate, House of Representatives and the Oyo State House of Assembly across the State’s senatorial districts, federal constituencies and state constituencies.

Party chieftain, Bimbo Adekanmbi, is expected to emerge as the consensus governorship candidate of the APM during the exercise.

Officials of the Party described the primary election as part of moves to strengthen the Party’s structure and position ahead of the next political cycle in the state.

The gathering is also expected to attract notable political figures and observers from within and outside Oyo State.

Sources within the Party disclosed that Governor Seyi Makinde is expected to attend the event, a development already generating conversations among political stakeholders and Party supporters.

Supporters of Adekanmbi say he possesses the experience, vision and leadership capacity needed to drive development across Oyo State.

The Party also reaffirmed its commitment to credible leadership, inclusive governance and people-oriented policies aimed at improving the welfare of residents in the State.
