OSOGBO, Osun State — Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has taken an early lead in the ongoing collation of results from the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Results from 303 of the state’s 332 wards show Adeleke with 177,572 votes, representing 50.5 per cent of the votes recorded so far.
His closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has polled 158,588 votes, leaving him 18,984 votes behind the incumbent governor.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, is currently in third position with 5,917 votes.
The emerging figures remain provisional, as collation is still underway and results from some wards are yet to be added to the running total. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is also continuing to upload polling-unit results to its IReV platform.
The contest has attracted significant attention across Osun, with Adeleke seeking another term while Oyebamiji is leading the APC challenge.
With 29 wards still outstanding in the reported ward-level collation, the race remains open until the final results are collated and officially declared by INEC.
Political parties, observers and residents are closely monitoring the collation process as the electoral commission works towards determining the winner of the keenly contested governorship election.
