Police Arrest 129 Terror Suspects, Kill 55, Rescue 309 Hostages in Kogi and Kwara

The Nigeria Police Force said they’ve caught 129 suspected terrorists in Kogi and Kwara states. This occurred during recent operations aimed at addressing insecurity in the North-Central region.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Force Public Relations Officer, mentioned this on Tuesday while on Channels Television’s Politics Today show.

Hundeyin stated that the operations also resulted in the deaths of at least 55 terrorists during shootouts with police. Plus, 309 hostages were saved.

“I can confirm that 129 terrorists were arrested and 55 taken out in Kogi and Kwara, while 309 hostages were rescued during the recent operations,” he said.

Hundeyin made it clear that those who died were k#lled in actual battles, not through any illegal actions.

“The ones k#lled fell in the line of fire… F+ref%ght, he explained. Some might say it was extrajudicial killing, so I have to clarify that.

He said that the suspects didn’t surrender, even after some of their buddies got arrested. Instead, they chose to fight the security forces.

“These were people who were not ready to give up because some of their colleagues were arrested. But these were people who decided to fight to the end,” Hundeyin added.
