Portable Nearly Swings on Carter Efe at Face-Off – “Security No Fit Hold Am” Before May 1 Bout
The gloves aren’t even on yet, but Portable already wants all the smoke.
Tensions boiled over at the pre-fight face-off in Ikeja on Tuesday, April 28, as controversial street-hop star Habeeb “Portable” Okikiola lunged at comedian-turned-boxer Carter Efe, forcing bouncers to scramble. And by scramble, we mean tap out.
“Security couldn’t even hold him,” one eyewitness said. “Baba was ready to collect his win before May 1.
” The two social media stars are set to headline “Chaos in the Ring” on Friday, May 1, at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos. The celebrity bout is sanctioned by the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control and will stream live worldwide on DAZN.
Portable, rocking spiritual charms, drew his thumb across his neck and told fans: “I will beat him, I will finish him”. He tried to start the fight on the spot, forcing bouncers to intervene.
Carter Efe wasn’t backing down either. “You, you this small thing. We will meet in the ring, and I will beat you,” he fired back, pushing against bouncers and shouting, “Leave me, let me give him a taste here”.
This isn’t just influencer boxing. The bad blood is real. From online jabs to Portable mocking Carter Efe’s training with Small Doctor, these two genuinely don’t like each other.
Promoters Balmoral Group and Amir Khan’s AK Promotions are calling it Africa’s first major influencer boxing event. Portable’s calling it “one round”.
With over 10 million followers between them, Lagos is about to be electric on May 1. The only question: will the ref need backup before the opening bell?
