There was drama at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu on Wednesday after former Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Uche Nnaji, was reportedly arrested while attempting to board a chartered flight bound for Abuja.
Sources familiar with the development said the former Minister was taken into custody at the airport and is expected to be handed over to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for further questioning.
According to a report by Premium Times, the anti-graft agency had been tracking Nnaji since his resignation from office last year following investigations which allegedly uncovered forged academic certificates linked to him.
The ICPC is expected to interrogate the former Minister as investigations into the matter continue.
