LAGOS, NIGERIA: Nigerian music superstar Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has been announced as the headline act for the opening night of Detty December Fest 2026 in Lagos.
Wizkid is scheduled to take centre stage on Friday, December 18, 2026, for the Grand Opening Concert, officially kicking off the 13-day festival, which runs from December 18 to 30.
The announcement has added to growing excitement around Lagos’ December entertainment calendar, a period that traditionally attracts thousands of Nigerians returning from the diaspora as well as international visitors.
According to the organisers, the 2026 edition will feature an expanded two-stage format. Wizkid will headline the main Detty Festival Stage, while the newly introduced Detty Pulse Stage will showcase emerging artists and new African sounds.
