Umo Eno put compassion on display as he joined family, friends and sympathisers at a Service of Songs held in honour of the late Mrs. Oluwakemi Oyeteju James, wife of his aide, Mr. Mike Effiong James.
The emotional gathering took place on March 31, 2026, at the Daystar Christian Centre in Ikeja, Lagos, where mourners came together to celebrate the life of the deceased and support the grieving family.
Governor Eno attended the event to stand by Mr. James, who serves as Senior Special Assistant (Lagos Liaison) in his administration. His presence at the solemn occasion highlighted his commitment to supporting members of his team not only in their professional duties but also during personal moments of sorrow.
Throughout the service, prayers, worship and heartfelt tributes filled the atmosphere as loved ones reflected on the life and impact of the late Mrs. James. Those present described the ceremony as deeply moving, with many sharing fond memories and words of encouragement for the bereaved family.
By attending the service personally, the Governor paid tribute to the departed while also offering comfort to his aide and relatives who are navigating a painful loss. Observers noted that his presence sent a strong message of unity and empathy, showing that leadership goes beyond governance and includes standing with people during their most difficult times.
For the grieving family, the show of support from the Governor and others in attendance served as a reminder that they are not alone as they mourn the loss of their loved one.
