Kava TV Restores Service After Massive Rush for Behind The Scenes.

Streaming platform, Kava TV, has revealed that recent loading and access issues were caused by an unprecedented surge in viewers following the release of the blockbuster Nollywood movie, Behind The Scenes.
The film’s popularity has skyrocketed, currently holding the number one spot on Netflix in Nigeria for African audiences, while also topping Kava TV’s charts for international viewers.
In a statement shared on its Instagram page on Sunday, Kava TV explained that the overwhelming influx of users temporarily strained its servers.
“We’re currently experiencing a record-breaking surge in traffic following the release of Behind The Scenes, which has put temporary pressure on our servers,” the platform stated.
Kava TV reassured viewers that its technical team is working tirelessly to restore smooth service.
“Our team is fully on it, scaling capacity and ensuring a high-quality streaming experience across the platform,” the statement added.
The platform confirmed that services have now stabilised, jokingly acknowledging the massive audience turnout: “To the thousands who tried to enter KAVA at the exact same second – your love is massive! We’ve cleared the road, and the app is back up.”
The movie itself has achieved record-breaking commercial success, grossing £159,000 in the UK and Ireland, making it the highest-grossing Nollywood release in those markets. Domestically, Behind The Scenes earned ₦2.7 billion at the Nigerian box office, solidifying its status as one of Nollywood’s biggest titles.
Distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, the film features Scarlet Gomez in the lead role alongside stars like Funke Akindele, Iyabo Ojo, Destiny Etiko, Tobi Bakre, Uzor Arukwe, and Mr. Macaroni.
Exploring fame, success, and the personal pressures behind public admiration, the movie delves into themes like “black tax” and the responsibilities to support family, resonating with audiences worldwide.
