Political Earthquake: Kwankwaso Moves Camp, Directs Loyalists to Join ADC Ahead of 2027.
A major political shift is underway as the Kwankwasiyya Movement has ordered its members across the country to begin registering with the African Democratic Congress, signalling a decisive realignment ahead of the 2027 elections.
The directive follows the conclusion of plans by the movement’s leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to formally pitch his tent with the party.
In a statement released on Saturday, spokesperson Habibu Sale Mohammed said the move is part of a broader coalition strategy aimed at challenging the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the next general elections.
According to the statement, Kwankwaso is expected to officially register with the ADC on Monday, March 30, 2026, at his residence, Gidan Kwankwasiyya, along Miller Road in Kano.
The group didn’t stop at just announcing the move — it issued a clear directive to its supporters nationwide to immediately begin registration with the ADC at their ward, local government, and state levels.
Members were also encouraged to fully immerse themselves in party activities and play active roles in strengthening the party’s structure across the country.
Describing the decision as strategic, the movement said it was taken in the best interest of its members and the nation, adding that it reflects a strong commitment to democratic values and inclusive governance.
The statement also emphasised the need to protect democracy and uphold the will of the people, stressing that the Kwankwasiyya Movement remains united in its vision for a more inclusive and representative Nigeria.
With this development, the political landscape ahead of 2027 just got even more intense.
