Sanwo-Olu Clinches APC Nod for Good Governance: “A Responsibility I Accept With Humility”

The Governance Advisory Council (GAC), of the Lagos State All Progressives Congress has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, commending his administration for delivering good and accountable governance.

Governor Sanwo-Olu disclosed the endorsement on Tuesday, April 28, via a post on X, noting that the GAC’s unanimous backing was “humbling and historic.”

“Today, I was honoured to receive the unanimous endorsement of the Governance Advisory Council for good governance in Lagos,” Sanwo-Olu wrote. “Receiving this endorsement from the apex leaders of our dear party is indeed humbling and historic. One I do not take for granted.”

He expressed gratitude to GAC Chairman, Alhaji Prince Tajudeen Olusi, and members of the Council for their trust and confidence.

“It is a responsibility I accept with all sense of humility, and I will continue to stay focused on what truly matters to our people, which is good and accountable governance,” the Governor added.

The GAC, regarded as the highest decision-making body of the APC in Lagos, clarified that the endorsement was a recognition of Sanwo-Olu’s performance in office.

The Governor, currently serving his second term, is constitutionally ineligible to contest in the 2027 governorship election.
