Shock in Lagos: Popular Socialite ‘Agali’ Gunned Down on Stadium Bridge

Panic and disbelief spread across parts of Lagos late Saturday night after a well-known socialite, Adedipe Adeyinkan, popularly called “Agali,” was shot and killed in a brazen attack.

The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. on April 11, 2026, on the busy National Stadium Bridge, sending shockwaves through residents and social media circles.

According to authorities, Adeyinkan was driving toward the Iponri area when gunmen reportedly opened fire on him. The exact circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear, but the audacity of the shooting on a major Lagos road has raised fresh concerns about nighttime security in the Surulere axis.

Witnesses and emergency responders quickly rushed the victim to Mainland General Hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life. Unfortunately, doctors later confirmed that he died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

In a statement on Sunday, the Lagos State Police Command confirmed both the identity of the victim and the location of the attack.

Police said they are fully aware of the shooting involving Adeyinkan, popularly known as “Agali,” and confirmed that he was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.

As of now, investigators have not disclosed whether the attack was a planned assassination or a robbery gone wrong. No suspects have been officially identified.

Authorities say a full investigation is underway to uncover what really happened and to track down those responsible for the deadly attack. Meanwhile, the shocking killing continues to spark conversations online as residents demand stronger security measures across the city.
