“We Will Not Rest”: Gov Makinde Pledges Action After Meeting Protesters Over Oriire Abductions

Today, the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde met with representatives of the National Association of Nigerian (NAN) Students, the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), who led a peaceful protest to the Oyo State Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan the Oyo State capital.

Governor Makinde said he has listened to their concerns regarding the abduction of our children and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area.

He assured them that the Federal, State, and Local Governments are working in close coordination to secure the safe return of every abducted person.

“The safety and well-being of all residents remain our highest priority. We will not rest until those taken are reunited with their families,

“My administration also remains open to feedback and collaboration with all stakeholders on strengthening security across Oyo State,” the governor said.

Governor Makinde said, “This is a moment for unity, not fear. We will overcome this together.”
